“I just wanted to tell you how much this program means to me. Things have been very lean and food is often a luxury. A friend told me about the (Food for Life) program at St. Hilda’s Anglican Church. I can count on them every week and they always have a smile for me. They are so supportive and kind I just had to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Every little bit helps so much. Just so you know that there are a lot of people truly grateful for what you bring to me every Thursday, because it is not just food items – it’s dignity as well.”
Join s after the Service on Sunday September 15th for a fellowship Lunch We will be meeting at The Dutch Mill Country Market. I am sure the kids will love all the animals and the garden centre will have all the fresh harvest and for those who want to start their Christmas shopping early there is a lot to look at.
Please sign up at church on Sunday so we can reserve enough tables.

On Sunday August 18 we have been invited to join other ANiC parishes at ISLAND LAKE CONSERVATION AREA in Orangeville for a Eucharist Service followed by a BBQ. Some of the other parishes that will be involved are Church of the Epiphany & St. Peter by the Park from Hamilton, Christ the Redeemer from Toronto, and The Way from Stayner.
People are asked to be at the park by 10:30 a.m. We will be carpooling to the event, so if you will require a ride please let either Anne McCausland or Joan Towarnicki know as soon as possible. There is an entrance fee to the conservation area: $22/car (up to 6 people); Adults $5; Children 6-12 $3; Seniors (60+) $3. Inside the park there is swimming and canoes can be rented. There is also fishing (catch & release) for which there is a fee.
Every family is asked to bring a ‘pot luck’ salad or dessert plus their own drinks (water, pop etc.). Hot dogs & hamburgers will be provided.
Please Note: For those unable to attend, Pastor Paul will be having a service in the office at 8 a.m. that morning.
DIRECTIONS to Island Lake Conservation Area:
673067 Hurontario St. S., Orangeville
Two of the main streets are Broadway and Highway 10. There is a set of traffic lights where these 2 streets meet and a Boston Pizza on the hill above that intersection. The street opposite Broadway and leading to the Boston Pizza is the one you want. Hurontario Street is the second street from that intersection and you go LEFT. It leads directly into the park.
Note: There will be an 8:00 a.m. service at St. Hilda’s as usual, but no 10:30 service.
If you would like to participate and be part of this group, please let Sharon Jenkins know so she can order enough books. In the fall we will be reading and discussing the book “Nearing Home” by Billy Graham. Then we will be doing an Advent Study. In the new year we are looking at other studies and possibly doing a study of Isaiah.
We are pleased and excited to announce and extend invitations to attend the world-renowned ALPHA COURSE – “A Practical Introduction to the Christian Faith”. The course provides a comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable setting as it outlines all aspects of the Christian faith.
The Introduction Dinner evening will be held on Wed. September 25 , with the course starting on Wed. October 2 . For more information please see alphacanada.org or contact Gord & Doreen Clark at 416-991-8499.
